 Back Cover of Dolores Park

The mandala is a representation of the self. It is a picture of the source radiating out. This is a diagram in the flat world of the mind and a memory of being in the three dimensional world. Dolores Park is an homage to the Tibetan Book of the Dead, and explores through are our ability to visualized the energies that drive us around. The mandala is a representation and organization of those energies, just as the subject matter of the book, a sanga was also about that.

about energies

The earlier front cover of Dolores Park above had a traditional Buddhism mandala of the 8 hungry ghost realms. At the center are a pig a snake a rooster and an ox chasing each other around in a circle. They present glutony, envy, pride and stupidity. Wedge shape pie slices show little illustrations of the realms of the world over which tehse basic perverted drives hold sway. The traditional mandal is cut away to reverl the real pastoral world of Dolores Park through it. The park is the natural world in the hear of the city, like the commune of sanha bgroou marriage was a source of sanity or the people who belonged to it.
