The front cover of Knight of a 1000
eyes at left is a wild,
paint-splattered action painting crossed
in collage with stellar objects, machinery
and with CAD renderings of the human body
in various poses. There is a watercolor of
a human face placed on the gigantic
wireframe torso of a mythological entity
slowly plowing through the night. This
image inspires the title of the painting,
Pushing the Big-Steps Magic Man.
This push is being performed by the
figure in the lower left; doing the most
common move in tai chi, Brush Knee. We see
the energy of his push as impacting the
space time continuum in front of it as
warping and morphing and transmuting it,
according to elements of Taoist alchemy,
represented by the fiery pa kua, circle of
hexagrams in the chest of the mythological
being. There is a falling line of animated
mandala or mudra elements going through
the spine of the figure at the bottom.
The pa kua energy ball is on the
back cover of Knight of a 1000 eyes
at left, is in the same position as on
the front cover, giving the sense of a
direct line through the book. Here on the
back cover we have the Necker cube, an
illusion, which oscillates between being
flat and three dimensional. This inspires
the title Life steps out through the
Tao. In
the flat space it is a hexagram and sows
earth, water, and air with fire in the
middle. A dinosaur skeleton with a knights
head is also in the emblem.
