Conceptual illustration of extraction from synchronistic vortex, (modeled as a cloud with complex exponential wave behavior) by hexagram, of hierarchical emergence information.

This image illustrates the chapter "Yum Chi's Commentary on the I Ching" in the book, Knight of a 1000 eyes. The story is about learning Tai Chi and getting in touch with the wisdom of the body, here given voice in the internal guide or teacher, Yum Chi. He starts to write a commentary on the I Ching. What hubris. But why not.

is about a new father waking up in the night, dealing with a disturbance outside, feeding a bottle to his new baby, and thinking about his own father and mother. The right side is a flow chart of the main associational connections in the story. The left side is a collage of several images from the story and illustrations of the concept of the story. Thus we have juxtaposed side by side the dream and the abstraction of a verbal art. The story is written in the "bookmovie", a highly readable movie script format (invented by Kerouac and perfected by Burroughs).
