There are about 100 of these Spirit Token artworks in the novel Knight of a 1000 eyes. The concept of a spirit token is related to the I Ching. Tokens are the objects cast -- the 12 round coins, the 49 yarrow stalks, the tortoise shell, used to sample the current synchronistic vortex to get insight into the unfolding of time.
