Lyons' Selected Poems
This is a selection of some 80 poems
going back to the 70s up to the present.
The poems are selected from all the books
of Michael Lyons, including some rare
chapbooks.
The poetry is usually the personal,
observations of the self in the world with
others. There are some sonnets. The poems
are loose spontaneous, often humorous.
There are some poems called Reality Checks
usually written in a fit of paranoia while
on public transportation. There are a few
of the syntactical constructions from
Knight of a 1000 eyes. Perhaps the 3 main
influences are O'Hara, Dorn and Rumi. Yes
and Bukowski.
